| p70 | This reminds me of the struggle I felt as young boy, learning to fight my own shadow. I remember my father buying me a pair of boxing gloves because he thought it was time for me to learn how to defend myself. He took me to the basement and set up a bright lamp so the light would shine directly onto the wall. Then he had me stand between the lamp and the wall, and do battle with the shadow I saw there. Every punch I threw or tried to block was instantly countered by my shadow-self. It was a battle that was never real, one I could never win. Is this similar to the situation I encounter when I try to solve the problem of separation within the dream of separation? |
